NFRC is actively monitoring the Covid-19 pandemic. Based on the guidance of CDC, federal, state and local governments, NFRC recognizes that there are safety concerns, travel restrictions, labor disruptions and material shortages that could impact each of our Product Certification Program (PCP) participants.

We recognize that organizations are now faced with managing the safety and well-being of their personnel and continued business operations. We are working with each of our NFRC licensed inspection agencies (IAs) and accredited laboratories in an effort to determine appropriate actions that will minimize the impact on each participant.

The NFRC Board of Directors has provided the following guidance:

  • Not to waive the requirements for annual PCP inspections per the NFRC 700;
  • Allow each IA to determine the appropriate course of action to complete inspections either virtually or physically, ensuring the integrity of the PCP until revised guidance for Covid-19 is available;
  • That NFRC Staff continue to monitor laboratory operations on certification activities.
