NFRC Donates Over $500 to Habijax

Sale of souvenir lapel pins generates money for charitable organization

GREENBELT, MD. (November 26, 2008) – During its Fall Membership Meeting in Jacksonville, Florida November 3-6, The National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC) raised $565 through donations made for lapel pins, which commemorated the event with the image of a swaying palm tree.

Habijax is the Jacksonville, Florida affiliate of Habitat for Humanity, an organization founded in 1976 that is dedicated to eliminating substandard housing by building and promoting high-quality, affordable housing. Since its founding, Habitat for Humanity has constructed and rehabilitated over 300,000 houses and emerged as one of the leading organizations addressing the issues of poverty housing.

HabiJax has built more than 1,500 homes, more than any other local affordable housing provider and any other Habitat for Humanity affiliate in the U.S.

Recognizing the importance of energy efficiency to consumers, Habijax recently started the process of having their homes LEED certified (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design).
