Roland Temple Named First-Ever NFRC Member of the Year

Annual Award Presented at NFRC Fall Membership Meeting

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (November 3, 2008) – The National Fenestration Rating Council (NFRC) today presented its Member of the Year Award to Roland Temple during the opening session of the NFRC Fall Membership Meeting, in Jacksonville, Fla. Mr. Temple is the first recipient of the new award, which recognizes a member's contributions to the fenestration industry through actions that support NFRC's mission.

NFRC Chair Joe Hayden, of Pella Corporation, presented the award to Mr. Temple, who is the Codes and Standards Manager for AZS Consulting Inc.

“We are pleased to recognize Mr. Temple's dedication and years of exceptional volunteer service to the NFRC,” Hayden said. “He exemplifies our efforts to find solutions using an inclusive, consensus-driven approach.”

Recipients of the award support the mission of the NFRC by:

  • Being a positive advocate for the organization when addressing code officials, utility companies, governmental agencies, the media and others.
  • Regularly attending NFRC membership meetings and being actively engaged in critical discussions and decisions.
  • Exhibiting respect for all members and genuinely embracing the philosophy of a consensus process.

Mr. Temple has been active in NFRC since the very beginning and has led and served on numerous NFRC committees, subcommittees, and task groups throughout the years. He currently serves as Chair of the Certification Policy Committee.

As winner of the 2008 Member of the Year Award, Mr. Temple received the NFRC Crystal Star and a free NFRC meeting registration to be used in the 2009 calendar year, including reimbursement of meeting expenses.

Nomination forms for the 2009 NFRC Member of the Year Award will be available in July 2009.
