Temple Named First-Ever NFRC Member of the Year
Annual
Award Presented at NFRC Fall Membership Meeting
JACKSONVILLE,
Fla. (November 3, 2008) – The National Fenestration Rating
Council (NFRC) today presented its Member of the Year Award to
Roland Temple during the opening session of the NFRC Fall Membership
Meeting, in Jacksonville, Fla. Mr. Temple is the first recipient
of the new award, which recognizes a member's contributions to
the fenestration industry through actions that support NFRC's
mission.
NFRC
Chair Joe Hayden, of Pella Corporation, presented the award to
Mr. Temple, who is the Codes and Standards Manager for AZS Consulting
Inc.
“We
are pleased to recognize Mr. Temple's dedication and years of
exceptional volunteer service to the NFRC,” Hayden said. “He exemplifies
our efforts to find solutions using an inclusive, consensus-driven
approach.”
Recipients
of the award support the mission of the NFRC by:
- Being
a positive advocate for the organization when addressing code
officials, utility companies, governmental agencies, the media
and others.
- Regularly
attending NFRC membership meetings and being actively engaged
in critical discussions and decisions.
- Exhibiting
respect for all members and genuinely embracing the philosophy
of a consensus process.
Mr.
Temple has been active in NFRC since the very beginning and has
led and served on numerous NFRC committees, subcommittees, and
task groups throughout the years. He currently serves as Chair
of the Certification Policy Committee.
As
winner of the 2008 Member of the Year Award, Mr. Temple received
the NFRC Crystal Star and a free NFRC meeting registration to
be used in the 2009 calendar year, including reimbursement of
meeting expenses.
Nomination
forms for the 2009 NFRC Member of the Year Award will be available
in July 2009.
